Style with 3! The easy outfit colour guide

Do you have a hard time pairing outfits together? This could be because your wardrobe contains all the colours of the rainbow, or maybe you have colours that don't go well together. If your wardrobe has never ever had colour coordination before, it's about time that we create some strategy, and we start selecting from my style with three outfit guide.

Now the style with three outfit guide is a freebie that I have created for you to go and download to easily start putting these colours and outfits together. This guide is going to help you put a fabulous outfit together from your wardrobe.

In this blog, I am going to help you go over the colour guide that I created for you so that you understand why it works and how it works so you feel super duper confident when we put some outfits together.

Style with 3

So to put an outfit together from your wardrobe, I have made it so easy.

It's called style with 3, and here are the three simple steps.

Step # 1: Create a base colour

This is either going to be black or navy. We want to create a base colour. So the base colour could be black shoes, black jeans, a black blazer, or maybe you decide to start with a navy pair of jeans, a navy blazer, a navy scarf. Select one of the base colours from black or navy.

Step #2: Add a neutral colour

Neutrals are going to compliment our base colours and our accent colours, which are coming up very soon. So neutral colours could be grey, ivory, tan, beige or white. Just a little side note: These are just the colours I have selected in the guide to make it the most easiest.

But of course, you can add any neutral colours and any base colour to begin with. Think of neutral colours as if they are the backdrop for those bold or brighter colours that we're about to add in step three.

This could be a tan handbag, beige shoes, a white top, a grey top, or a beige top. Anything that you have in your wardrobe, it doesn't matter what piece it is as you're going to pick one of these neutral colours to go with your base colour.

Step #3: Adding accent colours

Now you're going to add one or two of these colours. These are the colours that are going to make the outfit pop. These are bright colours. They add interest to your outfit and they instantly pull the focus on them.

I'm going to go through the full list.

We've got yellow, orange, apricot, coral, blush, pink, red, rust, burgundy, lilac, purple, plum, emerald, mint, olive, sage, and sea glass.

So you're going to add one or two accent colours into your mix. Now, this is why I recommend that you download the guide because I actually have the colours there as a guide for you to keep on your phone. So you can use this when you're shopping for your wardrobe or shopping at the mall, but those are the colours that we're going to play with.

When it comes to accent colours, yes, they are bold and bright colours... But I know sometimes you might not suit those bright colours and not everyone can pull them off and that is so okay.

What this means is that we're going to pick other colours. They're going to stand out in comparison to the rest of those colour palettes that we've just discussed. So if you are someone that doesn't like those vibrant, bright colours choose colours that are more muted, softer, but still in a colour choice.

So instead of going for a fire engine red, maybe instead you go for a muted pink or a muted orange or a muted purple. So that would be part of your colour palette. You really want to make this personal to you and you'll know because if you go through your wardrobe right now, you'll see some colours there.

If you are a neutral girl, then that is so fine. Just make your wardrobe and personal style neutral all the way through. This rule is just to make things so simple for you.

There you go.

That's how easy and fun it is and you never know what you can create when you follow the guide.

Outfit Examples

Okay? So how do we do this? I've got some examples for you. That way you can picture what this looks like.

Example #1:

Start with black jeans - that's our base colour.

Add a grey chunky turtle neck knit - That is our neutral colour.

Add a gorgeous blush coat  - This is your accent colour.

The shoes can also be black, grey, or even pink. They can be whatever colour is in this outfit palette, but this is how you go from one, two, and three to create your outfit and then keep building from there.

Everything I teach you is to make things simple so that it ensures a very successful outfit look for you. From there you can start adding texture, print and patterns, and we get into that extra stuff. But for now, this is how you can easily put something together when you do feel overwhelmed.

Example #2:

How about we go for some black heels, a beautiful white blazer and a sky blue floaty dress. This sounds like such a stunning outfit.

Example #3:

Let's go for some navy jeans, a white tank, and then let's throw on a yellow cardigan, a vibrant, bright yellow cardigan!!

Example #4:

Now let's tone that back a bit.

Let's start with navy jeans and we'll put on some beige sneakers and let's add a muted tone, pink knit.

So do you see what I'm doing? We're starting with a base colour, then adding a neutral colour, and then finishing with an accent colour.

These outfit combinations that I'm writing out to you are actually from my free e-guide. So if you need to see the pictures for it to make sense, go download my free book. It is stunning. It's easy.
