Style like a pro
Do you ever feel like your wardrobe is crammed full of clothes and yet you have nothing to wear? You are about to learn how to turn an ordinary outfit into an impressive look that makes you feel stylish by simply balancing the proportions.
We are going to focus on four different parts of your outfit where you need to start paying attention so you can start showing up and styling like an absolute pro in your wardrobe and your life.
Fit and flow.
This is all about your tops and your bottoms.
Follow the fit and flow rule. It's all about balance. So you would pair a flowy tunic or baby doll top with some skinny jeans or leggings. The same applies to boxy tops, but you can also add a structured belt if you do have some wider bottoms, and try to create a French tuck to create a little bit more shape.
If you have some wide-leg pants, you would want to pair that with a slim body suit for the top, or just tuck in the top so you are creating a little definition. Remember, it's all about the fit and the flow. And also try an oversize sweater, which goes really well with a fitted skirt. Or if you have a full skirt, pair that with something fitted on top.
Bold and simple.
This is all about your accessories.
A big bold necklace should be worn with a simple outfit to let the necklace stand out. And this also goes for statement earrings. If you're wearing a statement dress, you should wear simple shoes. Wearing a loud dress, and loud shoes won't create balance. They're just going to compete for attention. But if you do have some bold statement shoes, pair that with a simple outfit and let the shoes do the talking for you.
Bright and neutral.
This is all about the colours.
You want to pair bright pieces with neutrals or black to help them stand out even more. Or if you're going for a neutral look, why don't you add some balance with a bright colour?
The prints and the solids.
Whenever you're wearing a printed style, you want to make sure that you match it with a solid colour. This is so we don't overwhelm the outfit. Matching prints together is fine, but make sure one print is more subtle than the other so they're not competing for attention. And choose one print to stand out more. If you have shoes that have prints on them, then that should be the main focus. You want to pair the rest of the outfits in a solid colour.
Styling like a pro is super simple. Once you've learned how to balance out your outfit, so what you're going to do is you're going to start with one look, and you're going to have a look at the different proportions, different colours, different statements, different textures, all of that. And you're going to start mixing and matching so that your outfits are on point all the time, like a pro.
